Giving something back

We believe in more than just serving exceptional drinks and food; we're committed to making a positive impact in the neighborhoods we call home. From our annual charity challenges that bring people together to challenge themselves for good causes, to our ongoing support of local events and fundraisers, giving back is ingrained in our ethos. Whether it's donating vouchers and prizes to support customer fundraising endeavours or organising community-driven initiatives, we strive to be a beacon of goodwill and generosity. Join us in making a difference, one pint at a time.

2024 Charity Challenge

In September, a team of 35 walkers from New Dawn Pubs, The Barley Mow, Insta Group Ltd and 1st Call Trees, got together for this year's challenge; to walk 100km in 3 days from Westminster Bridge in London to Brighton Pier.

Raising £33,000 for Phyllis Tuckwell Hospice Care and Abby’s Heroes, the team marched through the capital city down towards the coast under mostly blue skies, cheering each other on as blisters, aches and pains developed.

This annual challenge, that we've been organising for best part of the last decade, has become a much-loved (and quietly feared!) date in the calendar, and for good reason! It's no mean feat to walk for 6-8 hours a day, so a huge congratulations to everyone who took part, from the walkers, to the organisers and support drivers.

Thank you to everyone who has donated and supported the challenge this year!

2023 Charity Challenge

In early September 2023, along with our friends at Insta Group Ltd, The Barley Mow, and 1st Call Trees, the annual charity challenge took place, with the simple task (or so some thought) of walking the entirety of the Isle of Wight, approximately 100km, over 3 days.

Unbeknown to the team, they were to undertake this tough challenge on the hottest days of the whole year, but they completed the challenge and raised over £17,000 for the two chosen charities: Cherry Trees, a respite care home  for children near Guildford, and National Energy Action.

Pedalling for Pubs

In 2023 and 2024, our founders Mark Robson and Mark Williams took part in a Pedalling for Pubs challenge raising money for The Licensed Trade Charity and Only a Pavement Away, which support people working in the pub and hospitality industry.

In 2023, Mark Robson rode 450km from the west to the east coast of beautiful Sri Lanka. Along with riders from across the hospitality sector, he helped raise over £320,000.

In 2024, it was Mark Williams' turn, who cycled 400km from Nairobi to the Masai Mara. We donated 10p of every pint of Peroni sold to support his fundraising efforts, and with your help, he surpassed his personal fundraising target of £5,500.
